Deux Terres

« Grand vin de la Côte des Blancs et des Coteaux du Sézannais »

We only make vintage Champagne in exceptional years. The grapes of this wine, by the way the favourite wine of Jean Vignier, come from two selected vineyards: One in Cramant, one in the Sézannais. The two vineyards are genetically connected to each other. When planting the vineyard in the Sézannais, we took woods from our healthiest vines in Cramant to make a mass selection. So this wine somehow reunifies mother and daughter.

While its vivid, mineral acidity comes from the chalky soils of Cramant, the power and smoothness of this Champagne clearly comes from the Sézannais. On the palate, the wine is juicy and ample, showing creamy texture and fine bubbles, as well as flavors of apricot and peaches, lemon peel, cinnamon and dried fruits on the final. It perfectly stands on its own, but you may also enjoy it as an appetizer with some sweet “Biscuits de Reims” or Parmesan crisps.
